It seems as though it was yesterday when I took my friends and family out to the Mission Bay Parade of Lights last year. We had the best seat in the house for this parade. As close as you can get without actually being in the parade, we cruised around the bay in the 56 ft 560 Express cruiser yacht from San Diego Prestige looking for the perfect spot to anchor. We enjoyed some food and drinks as over 100 boats that were lit up like Christmas trees coasted by us. The boat parade ended with a magnificent display of fireworks and the lighting of the Sea World tower. This year with an expected 60,000 spectators around Mission Bay, instead of trying to find parking and a place to watch, renting out the yacht seems like a great idea. The parade kicks off Saturday December 13th at 7pm. The parade runs a route throughout the bay and ends at 9pm with a firework show and the lighting of the Sea World tower. There is also going to be the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights which will be held on Sunday December 14th and also on the following Sunday December 21st. This parade will start at 5:30pm with a firework show by Shelter Island and then make its way to the ferry landing on Coronado by 7:30pm.
