BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke) is the parent company to Royce and Mini. They trace back to 1913, and went public in 1922. They began constructing aircraft engines, and later switched over to motorcycles in 1923.
Automobiles were later introduced in 1929.
BMWA?€???s Motorcycles are still being produced today and are even used by local police departments. BMW has manufactured many cars which are split in between series including the 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and M series. These cars include executive (Luxury), executive (Sport), and SUVA?€???s. BMW not only has been successful with their line of cars, but their racing. Most people donA?€???t know, but BMW designed the S70 V12 engine for the McLaren F1.
This was the worldA?€???s fastest production car during the 1990A?€???s and since only few cars have surpassed its performance since 2005. Only 100 McLarens were produced between1994-1998. This car can blast from 0-60 MPH in just 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of over 243 mph. BMWA?€???s future looks promising and they plan to introduce a supercar of their own which will surpass their Z8. This new Supercar will likely be called the Z10 or M10, and will compete with AudiA?€???s supercar the R8.
