The second generation of the much acclaimed BMW Z4 is not only more striking and more beautiful than the original, but it is also a technically superior car in every way. The 3.0 liter legendary BMW inline-6 cylinder engine in our rental makes a healthy 255 horsepower, and 220 ft lbs of torque are available as low as 2,600rpm, allowing the Z4 to accelerate effortlessly away from stop lights and onto freeway onramps. This power is directed to the rear wheels via a 6-speed transmission, allowing for smooth, quiet freeway cruising. For improved handling and comfort, the car comes equipped with an advanced multi-link rear suspension and a Driving Dynamics Control system which allows the driver to select from a multitude of modes: normal, sport, and sport plus for precise handling and sharper throttle delivery. The brakes, ventilated discs at all four corners as one would expect, are assisted by an electronic brake fade compensation system, brake drying, and traction control for sure-footed braking and improved performance in extreme driving conditions.
