The Land Rover History

Land Rover is a British Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) and an All Terrain Vehicle ATV manufactured in England. After Jeep, Land Rover is the longest living SUV Brand. Introduced in 1947, the first Land Rover was inspired by a Jeep used during WWII. The chassis was constructed by Jeep using a light weight alloy called Brimabright. IT was also equipped with a 1.3 Liter 4 cylinder engine. Despite it being their first car, it was designed to withstand the toughest conditions. The introduction of the Range Rover in 1970 alone, exploded with popular all over the world and by 1976 Land Rover had already produced its millionth vehicle.

Today a 2008 Range Rover features a luxurious smooth ride, an elegant interior, and all the newest technology that Sport Utility Vehicles have to offer. These cars are not only extremely safe vehicles for your family, but great off the road. Its short wheel base gives the car much better traction when climbing steep grades and slopes. The 2008 Range Rover HSE is also equipped with a 4.4 Liter V-8 engine producing 305 horsepower. If that's not enough for you, they offer a supercharged version of this which has 400 horsepower and 420 lb ft of torque.

Now operating as Premier automotive Group, Land rover is under the ownership of Ford Motor Company.
